The first in a two course sequence designed to develop pre-service elementary teachers' conceptual understanding of mathematics. Topics include problem solving, set theory, number theory, rational and real numbers, and algebraic concepts. Emphasis is placed on learning through problem solving. Open only to prospective elementary teachers. Prerequisites: MATH 115 with a grade of Cor better or placement. Typically Offered Fall, Spring and Summer.
