A survey of literature written primarily for teenagers, topics to include fantasy, problem novels, social and psychological realism, historical realism, poetry, biography, and informational books. Literature addressing issues of particular concern to adolescents (achieving personal identity, puberty and sexual awareness, interpersonal relationships, cross-generational conflicts, interracial relations, increasing social and political awareness), and assessing literary quality.
