Examines the geologic factors important to making wise land-use decisions. Hazards of development in areas prone to earthquakes, volcanoes, flooding, masswasting, and shoreline erosion are considered, together with hazard reduction measures. The impact of development on resources such as soil and groundwater is also considered. This course meets General Education requirements: Scientific Understanding, Lab.
