Includes methods of data collection, analysis, presentation, and sources of vital statistics. Statistics used in the health sciences are introduced, along with application in conducting epidemiological studies. Epidemiology topics include uses and applications, frequency measures, public health surveillance, and journal article interpretation. Statistical topics include measures of central, distribution, statistical inference, and tests of statistical significance.
