This course emphasizes the development, maintenance and management issues related to quality, standardization and formal certification, in order to acquaint the student with trends in business practices that assure marketplace acceptance of products and services. Fundamentals of quality management systems and methods used to implement these models will be emphasized. Special attention will be given to total quality management in conjunction with Deming, the Baldridge Award, ISO programs, and emerging trends driven by globalization.
