Introduction to physics concepts, covering mechanics, heat, sound, light, electricity, magnetism, properties of matter, and modern physics. Inquirybased laboratory work and studentled activities prepare students to teach science. Subject matter is related to the California Science Content Standards and teaching resources are developed. Includes field work in an elementary school. 3 lectures, 1 threehour lab. Prerequisite: MAT 191 or equivalent. Concurrent enrollment in SCI 210 and 210L is required.
