Reviews macrolevel land use shifts in metropolitan areas, focusing on problems of housing, transportation and the environment. Emphasis on spatioeconomic/demographic patterns and dynamics between urban centers and suburbs as well as between metropolitan and nonmetropolitan areas in the United States during the 20th century. 3 lectures, 1 twohour activity. Prerequisite: URP 331 with a minimum grade of Cor permission of instructor. Concurrent enrollment required.
