Theories of structural design and the relationship of structure to form, function, and economics. Analysis of structural systems, including the determination of forces, stresses, and deflections. The design of concrete and masonry structures as a medium for introducing basic concepts of building and construction systems and materials. 3 onehour lectures, 1 onehour discussion. Prerequisites: undergraduate standing in architecture, and ARC 322 or graduate standing in architecture. Concurrent enrollment required.
