California examined from the vantage of its architectural elements, its houses, workplaces, civic spaces, and roads, and their history. The influences, events, values, technologies, and processes which interact in the making of architecture and which result in human patterns upon the landscape of California will be surveyed. Field trips. 2 twohour lectures. Prerequisites: undergraduate standing in architecture, and ARC 363, or graduate standing in architecture.
