Theory and practice related to processes dealing with the deformation, consolidation and casting of engineering materials. Modern manufacturing methods are explored with emphasis placed on the application of engineering principles to the production of marketable products. Topics include: molding, casting, powder metallurgy, hot and cold working, welding and introductory exposure to manufacturing systems. 2 lectures/problemsolving and 1 threehour laboratory. Prerequisite: MFE 217 or ETT 217 or equivalent.
