Introduction to the theory of measurements in surveying. Error propagation in horizontal and vertical position. The analysis of surveying measurement errors. Error propagation in rectangular coordinate systems. Introduction to the techniques of least squares in the adjustment of surveying data. Least squares adjustment of triangulation, trilateration and traverse networks. The use of computers in surveying. 3 lectures/problemsolving. Prerequisites: CE 220, Cor better in MAT 216 or MAT 224, MPT or CE 110/110L.
