3 credit hours This course provides an overview of the major theories and stages of human development followed by a study of the major theories of learning and their implications for the teaching/learning process. Topics include: cognitive, physical, and psychological milestones in development; learning theories; the impact of teaching styles on learning styles; motivation theories and their educational implications; theories about intelligence and its assessment; creativity and its development. A fieldwork practicum of 10 hours is required. Prereq: Educ 200. (Fall and Spring)
