4 sem. hrs. Prereq.: PSYC 203, PSYC 235, and consent of the instructor. A survey of the tools psychologists use to investigate age-related changes in cognition. Topics include measurement, research design (e.g., experiments, quasi-experiments, and observations), and the communication of research findings. Both practical and ethical issues related to the use of children as research participants are discussed. Includes a laboratory component. Turner.
