Explores Sudan's multiple identities and the conflicts that have plagued the country since independence, with particular attention to the civil wars in the south and Darfur and the conflicts in the Nuba Mountains and the northeast. Looks at the commonality and differences of these areas, how conflicts feed into a national crisis of political structure and identity, and what steps would promote unity-in-diversity and lasting peace.
