4 sem. hrs. Prereq.: Completion of the competency in basic mathematics requirement. Explores our use of energy and its effect on climate. We will discuss the direct and indirect evidence for global warming and evaluate the importance of human factors. We will evaluate different "models" used by scientists and economiststo forecast future impacts of climate change as well as the "true" costs and benefits of energyalternatives. This course will provide you with the facts and tools needed for informed participation in the global warming "debate" as both scientistand concerned citizen. Three lectures and one laboratory per week. Berger.
