3 credit hours Prerequisite: Music 101 | Co-requisite: Music 112 Introduction to harmonic function and analysis through study of harmonic progression, cadences, and non-chord tones. Voice leading principles in four-part chorale texture, including both analysis and composition. Study of binary and ternary forms and modulation to closely related keys. Students will write a composition for four voices or instruments. Computer-assisted instruction supplements course materials.
