3 credits This course introduces students to the history and practice of literary criticism with A focus on post-structuralist theories developed and refined in the last fifty years including deconstruction, new historicism, psychoanalytical criticism, post-colonial theories, and feminism. While the course could contain any set of literary texts against which to read the theoretical works, This course iteration uses canonical texts of the English Middle Ages and Renaissance.
