3 credits This course explores the theory, beauty, scope, relevance, and history of discrete mathematics. Mathematical reasoning, combinatorial analysis, discrete structures, algorithmic thinking, and applications/modeling will be emphasized. Participants will extend their understanding of key ideas of discrete mathematics through problem sets, group inquiry, case study analysis, and guided research. Restrictions for registration: Students must have completed 6 credits of college-level mathematics, or permission of instructor.
