3 credits Students will examine the array of assumptions and methods of history's practice; synthesize and focus their emphasis and interests in American or modern world history; share with peers their ongoing work and reactions to current periodical literature and other common readings; become seasoned online searchers; begin to prepare for teaching history; and define, pursue, and complete A significant research project to the standard of A publishable journal article. Prerequisite: 3 credits of CHIST or CHUMS at the 3000-level OR permission of the instructor.
