3 credits This course introduces the main branches of therapeutic uses of writing, i.e., bibliotherapy, poetry therapy, the use of memoir, journaling, and prose writing as therapeutic tools. The focus of the course will be on clinical uses of these modalities and on the history and theory of writing as A therapeutic modality with appropriate clinical populations. The relationship of writing to other expressive therapies will also be considered.
