3 credits This course examines A wide range of approaches to drawing as A means of conveying ideas. Using both traditional and alternative drawing media, this class emphasizes development of concepts, use of imagination, and invention. Students are encouraged, through selected problems, to expand and even challenge the conventions of mark making. Inquiry into separate themes: perception, formalism, fantasy, and ritual, provide students with A variety of strategies for developing A personal approach to drawing methods and imagery. Prerequisites: 6 credits of 2000 level drawing or permission of instructor.
