Prereq: Emergency Medical Technician. This 40-hour course is designed specifically to provide you with the tools to make critical medical and evacuation decisions in remote locations. Topics include wilderness protocols, trauma management for extended periods, equipment improvisation, environmental medicine, toxins, backcountry medicine, and wilderness rescue. Participants must hold a valid EMT certification to receive the WEMT certification. Other medical professionals will receive a Wilderness EMT course certificate. Class fee includes required text. 1 cr, 1st sem.
