Emphasizing prevention of injury, this course includescontent on the history of athletic training, the role of the certified athletic trainer as a health care professional, the health care team, environmental stress issues, pre-participation screening, protective equipment fitting, nutritional aspects for the physically active and strength and conditioning principles and techniques.
