or coreq: ENG ME 345. Computer methodology for the design and implementation of process automation, starting at the level of the individual machines, leading up to process cells, production lines, networked and global manufacturing. Hands-on experience with manual and numerically controlled machines (DNC), followed by local-networking tools (Intranet) for the implementation of processes requiring several machines, leading to global networking for global manufacturing. Hands-on experience is gained via tools of rule-based graphical programming. Prior knowledge of programming is not required. 4 cr, 2nd sem.
