Catalog Description: Unique aspects of creating and managing an E-Commerce business; topics address the internet, infrastructure for electronic commerce, markup languages, web-based tools and software, security issues, electronic payment systems, strategies for marketing, sales and purchasing, legal, ethical and tax issues, management functions including how managers plan, exercise leadership, organize, and control the operations. Apply broad based business theories, concepts, and applications to e-commerce via the internet: identify required elements for developing an infrastructure; identify appropriate software packages for web page development; list relevant security issues; describe transaction processing systems; implement the marketing concept; identify relevant ethical/legal concerns; discuss current tax issues as related to e-commerce transactions.
