Catalog Description: This capstone course provides the advanced student an experience external to the college in a specialized field involving a written agreement between the educational institution and a business or industry. Mentored and supervised by a workplace employee, the student achieves objectives that are developed and documented by the college and that are directly related to specific occupational outcomes. This may be a paid or unpaid experience. This course may be repeated if topics and learning outcomes vary. Prerequisite(s): None. Semester Credit Hours: 3 Lecture Hours / Week: 1 Lab Hours / Week: 14 Contact Hours / Semester: 240 State Approval Code: 16777215 Course Rationale: This course will provide the student the opportunity to gain the technical skills and develop the workplace competencies necessary for entry-level positions. In addition to technical training, students are expected to develop appropriate basic foundation skills in addition to interpersonal and problem-solving skills that are required in the dynamic workplace of today.
