This course is designed to introduce students to new models for the practice of business as it is affected by new technologies. From ethical issues related to customer privacy to the problems related to timely contract fulfillment, this course engages the student in analyzing the potentials and problems the Internet offers. Topics covered include a survey of strategies and organizational models for new and existing businesses on the Internet, the impact of ecommerce on customer relations (advertising, marketing, customer service), using information technologies for accounting, managing inventories and security, and designing strategies for keeping current with changes in the practice of e-business.
