This course will examine special populations of offenders in the criminal-justice system. Women, people with mental illness, people with HIV/AIDS, the elderly, and socioeconomically challenged people will be examined in relation to all parts of the criminal-justice system. Programs, policies, and case studies will be analyzed to get a full understanding of the problems presented by special populations. Prerequisite: Criminal Behavior
