The sub-discipline of political-psychology draws on the insights of political scientists, social and cognitive psychologists, and behavioral economists. Topics addressed include the roles of affect and cognition in opinion formation, persuasion, framing effects in survey questions and political rhetoric, altruism, rationality, judgments under uncertainty and risk, and the use (and misuse) of heuristics.
