A research-based course that explores fundamental concepts in development, physiology, and life history characteristics of animals by analyzing primary literature and conducting experiments. Students exploremodel systems in animal biology through in-depth study of a few species of animal. Students also have the opportunity to design and complete their own research projects. Prerequisites: 101, 102, and any 200 level or higher biology course. Offered in alternate years, spring semester.
