Fall, Spring. Beginning physics course for physical science, mathematics and engineering majors. Provides a basis for further studies in physics. Mechanics, thermodynamics, acoustics, optics, and electricity. Three hours lecture and 3 hours laboratory per week. Prerequisite: Concurrent enrollment or credit in MATH 251 and a grade of "C" in MATH 201. Credit inboth PHYS 201-202 and 211-212 will not be granted. Prerequisite for 212 is 211. A grade of "C" or higher is recommendedbefore advancing from 211 to 212. Fee: See course fee schedule.
