Fall, Spring (Summer, on sufficient demand). An introductory course that provides foundational nursing knowledge, skills and practice interventions. The course incorporates principles from the sciences and humanities and emphasizes entry-level nursing practice based on the nursing process. Content focuses on safe practice using curriculum strands of critical thinking, Christian principles, leadership, teaching-learning, communication, research, global perspective and the nursing process. A grade of "C" or higher is required. Three lecturehours per week and 6 laboratory or clinical hours per week. Prerequisites: BIOL 249, 253; NURS 100, 203.
