Values, philosophies, and ideological positions leading to the development of social welfare policy. Societal forces that influence current developing social policy, with particular emphasis on the relation of economic and political processes to social policy development. Analysis of social policies in view of their historical and ideological positions and responsiveness to individual and social needs. Prerequisites or corequisites: SWK 275, HIST 101 or 102, HIST 110 or 111.
