Fall, Spring. Introduces students to GUI structure and operation, as implemented in VB. Introduces common control objects and language syntaxes. Reviews and practices traditional procedural program structures and related programming techniques. Uses hierarchy charts and pseudo-code for planning and designing a straightforward GUI-based application and flow charts for communicating individual procedure structures. Introduces object-oriented programming concepts using VB.Net as a tool for illustrating and interpreting the concepts. Prerequisites: IS 101 or IS proficiency exam, COMP 150.
