A continuation of MUP111, MUP313 is designed to give the music student the opportunity to study the art of conducting at an advanced level of proficiency. Advanced techniques in the areas of score study and analysis, transposition, review of basic conducting techniques, expressive conducting/ interpretation and rehearsal techniques will be areas of focus. Participants will conduct the class as a vocal or instrumental ensemble as well as recordings of other ensembles. Prerequisites: MUP111, MUT123, MUT124, junior standing or permission of instructor. Two hours.
