(For art education majors): This is an experience-based visual arts methods course for prospective art teachers. Students will be introduced to instructional strategies used to teach children the basic elements of art production. A brief exploration of ways to include art history, art criticism, and aesthetics will also be presented. Students will learn how to deal with problems that might arise in the art room setting. Each student will spend a minimum of 20 observation hours with an elementary or middle school art teacher in a nearby public or Christian school. Creating art projects and developing curriculum is included. Three hours.
