In this two semester course students will seek to gain sufficient mastery of the Hebrew language, including vocabulary, forms, and syntax, in order to begin translating and interpreting the Hebrew Bible. The second semester is devoted mostly to reading Hebrew narrative, with a continuation of grammar studies inductively from the reading selections. Students will be introduced to the basic literary and electronic tools currently in use in Hebrew language studies. Prerequisites: none. Three hours each semester.
