This course will examine the emergency preparedness practices used by first responders and the private sector during a critical incident. Topics will include an overview of incident command and the National Incident Management System (NIMS), National Response Plan (NRP), as well as interdependence between the public and private sectors in community emergency preparedness. In addition, the course will address critical infrastructure protection, joint risk, assessments and response, and recovery activities in critical incident scenarios. Prerequisite PSY110 or SOC110. Three hours.
