Institution:
Clarke University
Subject:
Description:
Study of the content of the bible, particularly the Old Testament. The primary goal of the course is to acquire greater understanding of how biblical faith originated in the foundational experience of the exodus-covenant as well as ways that, as a living faith, the covenant experience was handed on and developed in profound dialogue with the situations of believing communities. Using contemporary approaches to reading and understanding the bible, course participants will discover in the story of their biblical ancestors the patterns and processes of their own spiritual journeys and in this way make the biblical story their own.
