A study of the civilizations and cultures of the ancient Near East. This course considers the art and architecture of the Egyptian, Sumerian, Assyrian, Babylonian and Persian peoples. Particular emphasis is placed on the contributions of these groups to the artistic production of the Western world. Prerequisite: ARHS 133, ARHS 134 or consent.
