This 20-hour course is taught as a "hands-on" introduction to caring for andmaintaining your own bicycle. Students must bring their own bike that they currently ride to class. Course fee includes a bike repair kit that students can keep. The fi rst ten classes focus on using your repair kit to discover the mechanical systems of your bike: brakes, drive train, bearings, deraillers, and more. The fi nal classes focus on bicycle safety/sizing/fi tness/commuting, and riding techniques. The fi nal class will be a group ride/skills practicum. Note: repair kit tools are designed for bikes 1995 and newer. If your bicycle is older than 1995, you may be required to purchase the proper tools for your bicycle accordingly. A course fee applies. Check SIS for quarterly offerings.
