This course is an introduction to the fundamental theories and principles of chemistry governing the structure and behavior of matter at the atomic and molecular levels. The language of chemistry, including nomenclature, chemical reactions and equations, is introduced as well as the computational strategies used in chemistry. Basic laboratory skills and techniques are used to investigate chemical components. Activities focus on precision and accuracy in the collection of data.
