1029-501 - Organic Chemistry of Polymers

Institution:
Rochester Institute of Technology
Subject:
Description:
The synthesis of high molecular weight organic polymers and their properties are introduced. Mechanisms of step growth and chain growth polymerization reactions, polymer reactions and degradation are also considered. The end properties of polymers can be "tailored" by their method of synthesis.Controlled synthesis is particularly achievable when using coordinative polymerization, which will be discussed in detail.
