Description:

Comprising 80% of our bodies and 2/3 of the Earth's surface, water is arguably the most important compound. This course uses the tools and concepts introduced in the previous two courses of the sequence to focus on the chemistry of aqueous solutions. It takes a quantitative look at: 1) solubility equilibrium, 2) acid-base equilibrium, and 3) oxidation-reduction equilibrium, to illustrate the importance of the interaction of ions in aqueous solutions.
