An introduction to pathophysiology: the study of disease and its consequences. Major topics of lecture discussions and laboratory exercises deal with general pathologic processes, including cell injury/cell death, infl ammation, immunological defi ciencies, hemodynamic and fl uid derangements and neoplasia. Clinical correlations are made as often as possible as examples of how physiological processes can go awry in the generation of a particular disease.
