This course is an inquiry into European affairs during the years 1918-1945 describing and analyzing the political, territorial, economic, and social consequences of World War I\; the origins, nature, and significance of the Communist regime under Joseph Stalin in Russia; the Fascist regime under Benito Mussolini in Italy; and the Nazi regime under Adolph Hitler in Germany; the disintegration of the international order in the inter-war years; and the outbreak and course of World War II. Part of the history concentration; the history of the modern world and European history minors; and may also be taken as an elective. Part of the international studies European track.
