Students will progress from simple to advanced puppet design through the class. At each stage, students will see a completed puppet, design and build one of similar design, and test animate the puppet. Students will use a variety of materials. Students will solve the problems of facial expressions, foot and rig attachment, and clothing. Reparability and usability will be stressed as well as artistic and expressive considerations.
