Advanced Routing and Switching is a course in advanced networking topics. Technologies available to large enterprises to build a large intranet infrastructure are explored in depth. The topology of the Internet is discussed, along with current and emerging technologies for the implementation of that backbone. Topics include: core routers and routing protocols, queuing, multicast routing and the MBONE, variable length subnet masking, IP address depletion and network address translation, enterprise wide backbone routers, and emerging protocols.
