Examination of the fundamental building blocks and patterns for construction of software systems in the context of a sound design process, forming the foundation for subsequent courses in the curriculum's design sequence. The course emphasizes the study and development of software systems that can best be understood in terms of sequential software architectures and their architectural and non architectural quality attributes.
