This course introduces the student to the object-oriented paradigm, the computer science workstation environment, and the Java language. Topics include class design and implementation, inheritance, exceptions, fi les, threads, swing, and network programming. Students work individually and in small groups on programming assignments, which are an integral part of the course. This course is intended for students with previous programming experience and a background in data structures. Open only to transfer students. Not to be taken as a Computer Science elective.
